Mission System
What Are Missions?
Probably the primary occupation of a shinobi is doing missions for their village, or the highest bidder. Requests come into the shinobi villages all the time, and are then sorted by difficulty. D-rank missions are usually chores or some paltry tasks that involve zero risk and usually stay within the boundaries of the village or close to it. C-rank missions are relatively simple tasks which are usually given out to Genin who have had a bit of time to acquire experience and skills. B-rank missions are the most common ones, which are usually given out to Chuunin or Jounin level shinobi. A-rank missions are difficult and risky, and should only be completed by Jounin, but they also pay well. S-rank missions are the highest-ranking missions, they are extremely difficult and important and would usually require a group of experienced Jounin to be completed.
Accepting Missions:
The Missions on NRC may be attempted by a shinobi of appropriate title and many of them are available to missing-nin as well. Most missions are considered "generic" which can be done in anywhere, any number of times. They can also be done by missing-nin, but in this case, you'll need to pay attention to the description to judge if it makes sense. Kage can post unique missions that are a onetime thing, but that's at their discretion. When you make a "mission complete" post, provide a link (or multiple links) to the topic(s) where you did the mission.
Only moderators and Kages can post missions. If you have a mission idea, send it to a moderator so they can post it. Here's the code to be used when posting new missions:
Name: What is the name of the mission.
Requester: is the person who requested this mission. This can be a completely random NPC or anything that fits. It can also be an RPC.
Description: is pretty self-explanatory. This should contain the basic set up for the mission, the objective, some details and probably some extra notes.
Rank: The rank of the mission; D-S are the ranks.
Shinobi Needed: The amount of ninja required to take this mission. Some requirements to their village rank (Genin, Chuunin, Jounin) or missing-nin class may also be stated here.
Requirements: should contain whatever requirements are necessary to complete the mission, like a general number of posts, or a certain amount of posts in certain areas etc., any OOC condition besides the character's title.
Experience Points: This is how many experience points you gain per mission type
Mission Success:
In order to complete a mission, the user(s) are required to A.) Complete the actual objective of what the mission requires, and B.) gain the specified amount of points required to gain the “complete” status. Gaining points for missions is done the same way one would gain points for learning a jutsu. When you feel like you’ve completed the task, simply post in the Drop Box topic to receive a grade from one of the staff members, who will leave a +(insert number here) until you you’ve completed the task. Which then they’ll leave a simple “completed” and whala you’ve completed your mission and your village thanks you!
Missing ninja and missions:
Missing-nin like any other shinobi have a place within the mission system. Often times a Kage doesn’t want a specific type of mission linked back to his/her village, so instead of sending their own ninja and hoping for the best, they send a Missing-nin to complete the task, especially some of the more...delicate task. Furthermore it has been known that some Missing-nin affiliate with specific village due to their more welcoming status for their sort, while other villages do not tolerate them at all. Nonetheless, any mission that is branded with a {Missing-nin} tag means it's available only to them and not the general populace of the village. So go forth, be the mercenary of fame and fortune you’ve always wanted to be!
Special missions:
Fully described in the below post, special missions are a type of mission which falls outside of the normal ranking structure. Special missions are missions which are highly plot based, and centered on your character/team/whatever, and aren’t to be taken lightly. They encompass things such as the chunnin and jounin exams, and laying siege to countries, stopping massive cults or taking down the eldritch abomination, effectively making them incredibly difficult, but vastly rewarding. They don’t count as a mission of any rank, unless specified. Furthermore sometimes special missions are required to achieve new stages in one’s bloodline, ascend to a new Bond Level on your Jinchuriki path, or simply to claim a Missing-nin Artifact. Nonetheless what is constant with SM’s is A.) You control the flow of the mission completely, B.) what you can gain from them are more than just EXP, as you’re capable of requesting a large host of things without being required to spend EXP at all. Nonetheless you should remember that even though you’re moderating yourself, when you feel you have completed the task, if a staff member sees it as a shabby, rush job, you will not get whatever it was you requested and have to take two weeks before you can attempt to try for the requested reward again. SM’s are requested in the Character Plot section of the forum.
Quest:
Quest are very similar to Special Missions, as the also move forth a personal plot whereas regular missions have potential to move forward the global plot. However the way a quest differs from a special mission is the fact that these are DM’d by one of the members of staff. Basically these are meant to be some of the most difficult task the user can take on, being death enabled much like A and S-Ranked DM’d missions. This is the only way for certain levels to be gained such as Medium and Extreme Sage Mastery, Version 2 and Full Bijuu Mode, and potentially the Eternal Magnekyou Sharingan. Again, these things are not to be taken lightly, as failing can prove very hazardous to your RPC in an assortment of ways. The best thing to do is make sure you’re prepared and your toolkit is sharpened to handle the task that will be thrown at you. Nonetheless with that said, Quest can be requested at an time in character plots whenever you feel yourself ready and the prerequisites to whatever you’re gunning for have been acquired.

[*] Genin may do D and C rank missions at any time. Optionally if there is a group of three Genin within a Four-Man Cell (Under a Sensei Chunnin+) the group as a whole can accept B-Rank missions.
[*] Chuunin may do D to A rank missions.
[*] Jounin may partake in D-S rank missions.
